- April 21-29 – National Park Week
- June 9 – Get Outdoors Day
- September 29 – National Public Lands Day
- November 10-12 – Veterans Day weekend
National Parks that are within 150 miles from Las Vegas include: Death Valley National Park, Joshua Tree National Park, Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Mojave National Preserve, Parashant National Monument and Zion National Park.
Note: Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area managed by the Bureau of Land Management; not the National Parks Service. RRCNCA will not be participating in the National Park Week free days from April 21-29. RRCNCA will be waiving fees on the other days listed above. All fees collected do go back into the conservation area.
Normally, 146 of 392 national parks charge entrance fees ranging from $3 to $25. The other 246 do not charge for admission. The fee free waiver for National Park Week does not include other fees collected in advance or by contractors—such as fees charged for camping, reservations and use of concessions.
