Nashville Unplugged

Nashville Unplugged: The Story Behind the Song continues at Green Valley Ranch this Friday.  A fun and unique experience akin to Nashville’s Bluebird Café, Nashville Unplugged gives guests an intimate look at the thought process behind some of country music’s most well-known songs

Featuring country music’s most successful songwriters and the crowd favorite, “Songs from a hat,” where an original song is written on-the-spot, based on audience suggestions, Nashville Unplugged: The Story Behind the Song is hosted by Brian McComas, who wrote and sang “I Could Never Love You Enough,” and Aaron Benward of Blue County, who wrote and sang “That’s Cool.” All performances begin at 8 p.m. and there is a $5 cover at the door. Guests must be 21 years or older.

A Grammy-nominated writer, Steven Dale Jones is best known for his hit singles, “He Gets That From Me”, “Ten Thousand Angels” and “One More Day,” which reached number one on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and number 29 on the Billboard Hot 100. Jones has songs recorded by George Strait, Alabama, Reba McEntire, Randy Travis, Diamond Rio, Engelbert Humperdinck and Kenny Rogers, among others.

An award-winning songwriter, Clay Mills’ credits include the number one hits, “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It” by Darius Rucker and Diamond Rio’s “Beautiful Mess,” which received a Grammy nomination. Mills has also written for artists including Andy Griggs, Little Big Town, Kimberly Locke and Trisha Yearwood, who’s single, “Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love,” received a Grammy nomination.

Doors at 7:15 pm featuring “Songs from a Hat.” Guests that arrive between 7:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. can make up a title to a song and place the suggestion in a hat.  The songwriters will pick one title from that hat and then pen a song throughout the course of the evening, to be performed at the end.
