How About a Deal on a Swedish Massage?
Posted on 05 April 2008
Yesterday was my first visit to the High-Tech Institute for a 1-Hour Swedish Massage.
I heard about them on the Radio Shopping Show and had purchased two discount certificates for massages for only $12 each. What a deal!
My initial impression as I drove up was that it had a professional, clean looking curb appeal. Parking was very easy and close. I was directed to the check-in area to fill out a health questionnaire since I was a first timer and then taken back to the massage room by my student therapist, Elizabeth Lesner.
Elizabeth had completed her coursework and was now participating in a six-week supervised clinic in order to practice the skills she learned during the classroom portion of the course. This unpaid supervised clinic consists of 120 clock hours.
She did a very good job over the course of the next 50 minutes and responded well to my asking her to work on a specific area or change the amount of pressure applied. I was VERY satisfied with my massage and actually booked two more for myself and one for my mom who’s coming to visit in the next couple weeks. Best of all, it was a great way to start a relaxing weekend!
The High-Tech Institute currently operates their Student Massage Therapy Clinic on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays with appointments available from 11 am to 5:45 pm.
A 50-minute full-body, Swedish-style massage is just $25. Since it’s an unpaid clinic, please don’t forget to tip! The students are really trying to do a good job for you.
