Free Holiday Events at Town Square
Posted on 28 November 2009
Through December 23rd, snow falls at 7 pm Monday through Thursday and at 7 & 8 pm Friday through Sunday in Town Square Park located in the middle of the Town Square Shopping area. The snow fall is part of a show lasting 10 minutes and is choreographed to popular holiday music.
Other holiday events at Town Square this season include the Holiday Nights and Lights community concert series every Wednesday through December 23rd. The concerts will feature local choirs and music groups from Las Vegas schools and community organizations. The concerts begin at 6pm every Wednesday in Town Square Park.
The outdoor mall is decked out for the holiday season, including a 40-foot-tall holiday tree and a Norman Rockwell-inspired house where Santa Claus waits for children to share their Christmas wishes and get their pictures taken.
The Rockwell house is a replica of the artist’s studio, and vignettes of some of his famous paintings that appeared on the covers of “The Saturday Evening Post” are on display throughout Town Square. The vignettes are interactive and educational, offering audio information about the era in which the cover was published.
Santa will be available for photos from 10 am through 9 pm Monday through Saturday and 11 am to 7 pm Sunday through Dec. 23. Santa breaks for milk and cookies from 2 to 3 pm and 5:15 to 6 pm Monday through Saturday and from 2:30 to 3 pm Sunday.
Every Wednesday, dogs and cats are invited to get their photos taken with Santa from 10 am to 9 pm through Dec. 23.
Although pets are invited every Wednesday, children still are welcome to have their photos taken during that time.
