Welcome To Las Vegas Sign

_signlv.jpg

Created in 1959 by Betty Willis and Ted Rogich, the famous “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign sits at the south end of the Strip  in unincorporated Clark County.   It reads, “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada” on the front and “Drive Carefully” and “Come Back Soon” on the back.

The new parking lot features 12 parking spots, including two handicapped spots, plus space for two buses on the median near the sign, which is on Las Vegas Boulevard just south of Russell Road.  Access is available only from southbound Las Vegas Boulevard.

The sign is illuminated after nightfall, and creates a completely different look for photographs.
