From an early age, native Las Vegan Michael John knew he had the voice of Billy Joel and worked hard at perfecting it. The practice paid off as he landed the coveted gig of playing the world famous Legends in Concert show. Michael now travels with his show and has appeared on national television in the FOX television hit show “Performing As:.” Catch this talented musician as he plays Joel favorites like “Only the Good Die Young,” “Piano Man,” and “Angry Young Man.”

Now through September 1st, the Las Vegas Natural History Museum is hosting a special exhibit called, CSI: Crime Scene Insects. This display explores one of the most fascinating areas of criminal investigation- forensic entomology, the use of insects to solve crimes. The exhibit takes visitors through the history of insect use in detective work, the importance of insect activity as the Earth’s ultimate recyclers, and explores how modern forensic science uses insects to solve crimes as demonstrated through intriguing case studies.

Curator, Dr. Lee Goff is a fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, a technical consultant to the hit television show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and is one of only a dozen certified forensic entomologists. His work has helped insure an exhibit experience that will inspire wonder as visitors discover a unique environment that will help illustrate scientific principles and knowledge. Rookie detectives will enjoy enlarged models of bugs, containers with living flies, maggots, and beetles welcoming them to this exciting exhibition.

This exhibit is crawling with clues into the world of crime scene investigation so if you have a strong stomach and an interest in creepy, crawling, swarming critters, you’ll be buzzing about CSI: Crime Scene Insects.
