Deal after Deal in Primm
Posted on 17 January 2009
Friday night a friend and I had plans to see Natalie Cole in concert at the Star of the Desert Arena in Buffalo Bill’s Casino located in Primm. I came by these 2 tickets ($3.55 ticketmaster fee) by taking advantage of the ongoing Free Concert Ticket Promotion offered by Terrible’s Primm Valley Casino Resorts (click here for more info).
We headed out for the 45 minute drive to Primm about 5:30 pm.
Our first stop in Primm was the Fashion Outlets of Las Vegas. I recently joined the Fashion Outlets of Las Vegas Privileges Club (click here for more info) and had received a welcome letter to claim some freebies from them as well as another coupon for my upcoming birthday. When we went to the redemption desk, I was given a free tote bag, a voucher for 2 tickets for any show at the “V” Theater at Planet Hollywood valid for 6 months, and a bunch of savings coupons for stores in the mall. The birthday coupon also gave me $10 in free slot play at Terrible’s Primm Valley Casino, so that was our next stop.
I registered for a player’s card at Terrible’s Primm Valley Casino and as a new member I was given $5 of free slot play and a swipe of my new card for a free prize. This was added to the $10 in free slot play I received as a birthday gift from the Fashion Outlets of Las Vegas Privileges Club. I swiped my card and my free prize was a Terrible’s keychain (woohoo) and then off I went with my $15 in free slot play to try my luck on Deuces Wild video poker. After about 15 minutes, I cashed out $18.25.
Our final stop was Buffalo Bill’s Casino. We located the concert ticket pick up desk easily and after showing my ID, claimed my two tickets to Natalie Cole. We still had about 75 minutes until the concert, so we chose to eat dinner at Miss Ashley’s Buffet. Using a 2-for-1 coupon from the 2009 Las Vegas Entertainment Book, the total cost for dinner with tip came out to $13.25.
After dinner it was off to see Natalie Cole in concert in the Star of the Desert Arena. She put on a terrific show singing mostly the old standards. Through the wonders of technology, we were treated to two duets between Natalie and her dad, Nat, Unforgetable and Walking My Baby Back Home. The two back up singers and her band with a full horn section really added to the top notch performance.
While driving the 45 minutes back home after the concert, we reflected on the good time we had. Here’s our savings recap:
2 free tickets for any show at the “V” Theater at Planet Hollywood
Free Slot Play proceeds at Terrible’s Primm Valley Casino +$18.25
Miss Ashley’s Buffet at Buffalo Bills for 2 with Entertainment Book coupon (including tip) -$13.25
2 tickets to Natalie Cole concert (ticketmaster fee) -$3.55
Total +$1.45 It didn’t offset the gas to get there. Still a pretty good bargain I’d say.
