It looks like the only place to see fireworks this New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas is going to be on the Las Vegas Strip.

America’s Party 2012: The Las Vegas Strip closes to traffic around 6pm and fireworks will be launched at midnight from the top of Tropicana, MGM Grand, Planet Hollywood Resort, Caesar’s Palace, Treasure Island, The Venetian, Stratosphere and ARIA.

As a culmination to a full year of planning, Fireworks by Grucci has coordinated an 8 minute, 36 second program consisting of over 56,000 effects that will light up the Las Vegas Strip.  Fireworks and music will be in sync.

The soundtrack accompanying the fireworks will feature the Sal Soul Orchestra, LMFAO, Lady Gaga, Ne-Yo, Afrojack, Nayer, and Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, Adele, and a finale from ZZ Top’s version of “Viva Las Vegas”.  You can catch the music live on local FM stations KOMP 92.3 and KXPT 97.1.  Both radio stations can be streamed live online.

America’s Party has become one of the most anticipated events of the year, and this year the display is aptly themed as “Dance: Las Vegas.”

The Independence Day fireworks celebration was rained out in July, so everyone is invited back out for a great night of fireworks and live entertainment on Sept. 17!  This event is free and open to the public of all ages.  This event is sure to keep the whole family entertained with a performance by The Walt Blanton Quintet, and an exhibition by extreme artist Jean Francois will add excitement to an evening of fun activities.

Every Friday you can enjoy a date night or bring the whole family to Movies on the Lake.  Lake Las Vegas provides a beautiful backdrop for the large movie screen set up on the lawn and movie goers are encouraged to bring a blanket or low-back chair to use. Please be advised that no coolers are allowed. Guests can make a night of it by enjoying a stroll through The Village shops or by having dinner at one of the many delicious restaurants before the movie starts.  Movies are start at 8pm on the Events Lawn. They are all FREE to the public. No coolers please.

Martin, best known as a former lead singer of Kool & the Gang, will be performing his hits and more.  (**General admission tickets for Gimme Shelter are available for just $20. This special event begins at 6 p.m. with opening act Arms of America, a U2 tribute band.)
