New Year’s Eve on the Las Vegas Strip means crowds! Packed across the strip like sardines type crowds. While you are enjoying yourself and ringing in the New Year, be sure to keep your wits about you as you navigate the massive crowd.

You may not know this, but the Strip hotels close their doors to those not staying on property, so be sure to have a plan in advance if you have a specific place you want to go. If you park in a hotel parking structure at a property in which you are not staying, you will most likely not be able to enter through the hotel until sometime well after 1am to access the parking garage.

To see the fireworks, you’ll want to be out of the hotel by 11 pm, because the huge crush of revelers will be crowding the elevators and every crevice of the property. Be sure to keep close attention to your purse or wallet – better yet – take only what’s absolutely necessary.

It looks like the only place to see fireworks this New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas is going to be on the Las Vegas Strip.

America’s Party 2012: The Las Vegas Strip closes to traffic around 6pm and fireworks will be launched at midnight from the top of Tropicana, MGM Grand, Planet Hollywood Resort, Caesar’s Palace, Treasure Island, The Venetian, Stratosphere and ARIA.

As a culmination to a full year of planning, Fireworks by Grucci has coordinated an 8 minute, 36 second program consisting of over 56,000 effects that will light up the Las Vegas Strip.  Fireworks and music will be in sync.

The soundtrack accompanying the fireworks will feature the Sal Soul Orchestra, LMFAO, Lady Gaga, Ne-Yo, Afrojack, Nayer, and Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, Adele, and a finale from ZZ Top’s version of “Viva Las Vegas”.  You can catch the music live on local FM stations KOMP 92.3 and KXPT 97.1.  Both radio stations can be streamed live online.

America’s Party has become one of the most anticipated events of the year, and this year the display is aptly themed as “Dance: Las Vegas.”

The Independence Day fireworks celebration was rained out in July, so everyone is invited back out for a great night of fireworks and live entertainment on Sept. 17!  This event is free and open to the public of all ages.  This event is sure to keep the whole family entertained with a performance by The Walt Blanton Quintet, and an exhibition by extreme artist Jean Francois will add excitement to an evening of fun activities.

Free “Jazz on the Lake” concerts take most Saturdays at MonteLago Village Resort at Lake Las Vegas from 7 to 10 pm. The Village provides a relaxing environment for jazz fans to kick back and enjoy Las Vegas’ top jazz artists by water’s edge every Saturday night in May.

Boulder City’s 63rd Annual 4th of July Damboree Celebration

This annual event will feature a pancake breakfast at 7 am in Bicentennial Park; a parade at 9 am beginning at Colorado and going down Nevada Highway; Damboree ceremonies and midway booths at Broadbent Park beginning at 10 am; festivities from 6 to 11 pm at Veteran’s Memorial Park; and fireworks at Veteran’s Memorial Park at 9 pm. The City of Henderson will celebrate our country’s independence with their Annual 4^th of July Celebration. It’s time to celebrate Helldorado Days in Las Vegas.  What began as a tool in 1935 to bring tourists to town following the completion of construction on Hoover Dam has evolved into a celebrated event that unites locals with community spirit and raises money for local charities.

Helldorado Parade 2011

The 2011 parade is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2011 in Downtown Las Vegas along Fourth Street from Gass Avenue to Ogden Avenue.  Thousands of people line the downtown parade route every year, and the parade is also broadcast live by Cox Communications on cable channel 96 and streamed online at www.Cox96.net. KCLV Channel 2 will re-broadcast the parade in the following days. A fireworks show will be launched from the Fremont Street Experience parking garage immediately after the parade.  The best location to view the fireworks is the Fremont East Entertainment District, which is on Fremont Street between Las Vegas Boulevard and Eighth Street.

During Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite,” the sky will flash with golden willow comets, accented by yellow, red and orange shells, followed by volleys of red peonies with white pistils, silver crackling palm trees and red and gold strobing aerials during Katy Perry’s “Waking Up in Vegas.”  Effects such as green jetting comets, sparkling willow mines, red strobing rain shells, silver popping flowers, purple and yellow strobing comets will be used throughout. The finale will feature accents of red, purple, green, gold, silver and titanium shells.

Henderson’s Fourth of July Celebration

The City of Henderson’s Fourth of July celebration will be a star-spangled evening with a variety of family-friendly events, live entertainment and a fabulous fireworks show from 6  to 9 pm. at the Basic High School football field, 400 N. Palo Verde Drive. Fireworks will begin at 9 pm. Admission is FREE. Some activities may require paid admission.

Attendees will enjoy two stages of live music with performances by Blonde Sided; country music entertainer, Randy Anderson; and the Henderson Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, families will be entertained by an assortment of fun activities including a dunk tank, bounce houses and more. Food and beverage vendors will be on-site.

Boulder City’s 62nd Annual 4th of July Damboree Celebration

The annual Boulder City 4th of July Damboree begins on Saturday July 3rd at 7 am with a Rotary Pancake Breakfast at Bicentennial Park. CityCenter’s Aria opens at midnight Wednesday, December 16, 2009 and to celebrate, there will be a rooftop fireworks display beginning at 11:05 p.m tonight.  Aria will also be one of the seven Strip resorts that will be launching a rooftop fireworks display on New Year’s Eve, so this may be a preview of what’s ahead.
