Fremont Street Experience continues to present “Summer of the ’70s” by welcoming Wild Heart, a Fleetwood Mac tribute band performing free concerts through July 31st. With chart-toppers like “Don’t Stop,” “Go Your Own Way,” and “You Make Lovin’ Fun” Fleetwood Mac is one of the most successful and beloved bands of the `70s. Wild Heart will perform three sets nightly, each starting after the top-of-the-hour Viva Vision shows at 9, 10 and 11 pm.

Wild Heart is a six-member group from Las Vegas. Forming over nine years ago, the band alternates among three different lead singers to replicate the voices of Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, and Christine McVie. Members of the band are no newcomers to the music industry with individual accomplishments including opening for Cheap Trick and Joan Jett and touring with Chuck Berry and Chubby Checker.

Fremont Street Experience continues its “Summer of the `70s” by welcoming Platinum Rockstars, the ultimate classic rock tribute band.  With an incredibly versatile set list, fans will be treated to an array of hits from Led Zeppelin, Boston, Journey, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi and Van Halen.  Platinum Rockstars will perform three sets a night through Saturday, July 10 from 9 pm – midnight, all for free.

Platinum Rockstars is a six-man group from Los Angeles, Calif. Since 2008,
their unique approach to 1970s and 1980s classic rock has paid tribute to many unforgettable bands, all within a single show.  Reminisce to mega hits like “Stairway to Heaven,” “More Than a Feeling,” “Don’t Stop Believing,” “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” Livin’ on a Prayer,” “Hot for Teacher,” and many more.
Encompassing a range of smash hits, the group has Opened for Pat Benatar and has toured internationally.

As part of Fremont Street Experience’s  “Summer of the `70s,” this weekend is the annual Vegas Cruise car show running from Friday, June 4the through Sunday, June 6th.  The weekend will feature a free live concert from legendary band Sweet, a free car show and plenty of ’70s-themed fun.

Rock group Sweet will perform on Saturday, June 5 at 9 pm on the 1st Street Stage playing a free open-to-the- public concert at the Fremont Street Experience.  With such memorable songs as “Ballroom Blitz,” “Fox on the Run” and “Love is Like Oxygen,” Sweet brings back ’70s rock music memories.

For classic car enthusiasts, a free car show will take place all weekend long from 9 am to 5 pm on Friday and Saturday and from 8 am to 12 pm on Sunday. The vast display of over 200 pre-1972 cars will stretch over the five blocks of the Fremont Street Experience and will feature many rare, classic cars including a ’70s icon 1974 Chevrolet Camaro as well as the ultimate classic car, a Ford Model-T. All visitors to Vegas Cruise will have an opportunity to vote on their favorite rides in such categories as “People’s Choice” and “Ladies’ Choice” as the car owners compete for cash and prizes.

The Devonshires will be on hand for the duration of Vegas Cruise to keep the place rockin’ with their “Classic Rock Spectacular” tribute show. The Devonshires will play ’70s hits from June 3-6 on the 3rd Street Stage at 9 pm for Fremont Street Experience visitors.

Summer of the ’70s” Festival kicks off at Fremont Street Experience with Gloria Gaynor singing “I Will Survive” in a free concert on Saturday, May 29th at 9 pm.

The music and culture from the decade of the 1970s will return to downtown Las Vegas this summer as Fremont Street Experience presents the “Summer of the ’70s” festival and free concert series. The 102-day promotion will kick off Memorial Day Weekend and run through Labor Day Weekend.

“This year, as a follow-up to last year’s successful `Summer of ‘69′ which drew record nightly crowds to downtown Las Vegas, we decided to move to the next decade and focus on the 1970s,” said Jeff Victor, president of Fremont Street Experience. ”Throughout this summer, we will present headliners and tribute bands who will bring back the diverse music of the ’70s, everything from classic rock to disco.”

To open the “Summer of the ’70s,” Fremont Street Experience hosts disco diva Gloria Gaynor for Memorial Day Weekend on May 29 followed on June 5 by glam rockers Sweet during the Vegas Cruise car show weekend. The Little River Band will be featured on July 3, during the Fourth of July Weekend, Blue Oyster Cult will play August 14 and Jefferson Starship will rock Sept. 4 during Labor Day Weekend. Jefferson Starship’s return performance from last summer is part of the band’s 40^th anniversary tour.

Also, during the “Summer of the ’70s,” an Ultimate Elvis Weekend will feature the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest on July 23 and July 24.

Along with the free concerts, “Summer of the ’70s” will present a free stage show — “Fremont Street Fever” — performing Thursday through Monday at 9:15, 10:15 and 11:15 pm. on the 1^st Street Stage. ” Fremont Street Fever,” produced by Face Productions, is a 35-minute show full of high energy singing and dancing to the most popular disco songs of the ’70s.

Fremont Street Experience will also host 10 weeks of tribute bands that will showcase legendary groups like The Rolling Stones, STYX, Eagles, KISS, Deep Purple, Fleetwood Mac, Journey, Heart, AC/DC, and a ’70s Classic Rock Tribute by Platinum Rockers, recreating the hits of Foreigner, Boston, Led Zeppelin, and Van Halen. The tribute bands will play Tuesdays through Saturdays nightly on the 3^rd Street Stage.
