Seven nights per week House of Blues at Mandalay Bay offers free live entertainment:

Mondays – Blues Mondays – Featuring live blues music. Free admission. All ages. Doors at 8 pm.

Tuesdays – Alternative Tuesdays – Featuring a diverse mixture of music. Free admission. Doors at 8 pm.

Wednesdays – Nothing But the Blues – Featuring an evening of blues artists playing blues music in an up-close, intimate setting inside the popular courtyard in the House of Blues Restaurant. Free admission. All ages. Doors open at 8 pm.

Thursdays – Acoustic Strip – Vegas promoter and musician Michael Soli brings unsigned bands and solo artists to the House of Blues. The night features live, original music not seen or heard anywhere else on The Strip. Free admission. All ages. Doors open at 8 pm.

Fridays & Saturdays- Live Blues Music – Live bands performing in the Courtyard. The music begins at 9 pm. Free admission for all ages.

Sundays – Motown, Rhythm and Blues – Ronnie Rose Band will entertain the Sunday night crowd beginning at 8 pm. Free admission for all ages.

Lake Las Vegas Reschedules Rained Out Fireworks Spectacular

The Independence Day fireworks celebration was rained out in July, so everyone is invited back out for a great night of fireworks and live entertainment on Sept. 17! This event is free and open to the public of all ages. This event is sure to keep the whole family entertained with a performance by The Walt Blanton Quintet, and an exhibition by extreme artist Jean Francois will add excitement to an evening of fun activities.

7 to 10 p.m. – The Walt Blanton Quintet performs
8 to 8:30 p.m. – Extreme Artist Jean Francois
8:30 p.m. – Fireworks Spectacular

Free “Jazz on the Lake” concerts take most Saturdays at MonteLago Village Resort at Lake Las Vegas from 7 to 10 pm. The Village provides a relaxing environment for jazz fans to kick back and enjoy Las Vegas’ top jazz artists by water’s edge every Saturday night in May.

The Village at Lake Las Vegas boasts restaurants along the cobblestone streets of the Mediterranean style village offering options for everyone’s taste buds for dining pre- or post-show. Coolers and outside food & alcoholic beverages prohibited.

Free Concert: Jazz in the Park Series

The talent is set and the amphitheater is ready for the final performance of Clark County Parks and Recreation’s Jazz in the Park concert series. The free series concludes with The Sax Pack on June 4. Seating for those with picnic baskets, blankets and low-back chairs will begin at 7 p.m. with performances beginning at 8 p.m. at the Clark County Government Center Amphitheater, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway. Food vendors also will be available on site. Parking is free.

The Sax Pack is known for their high-energy saxophone technique that combines their individual styles and diverse backgrounds for a fresh approach to the music that inspired them all to become musicians – jazz. Highlights of the tour will feature original music written specifically for The Sax Pack as well as each saxophone player’s signature hits, classic funk, R&B and jazz tunes that get fans out of their seats.

Jeff Lorber Fusion, which was together primarily from 1977 to 1981, released many albums, such as Water Sign and Wizard Island, that became recognizable in the mainstream media and later went on to be sampled by rap and R&B artists such as Lil’ Kim and SWV. The band is also the foundation of legend as the album Wizard Island introduced a young saxophonist known to the world now as Kenny G. Although Lorber, a Grammy Award-nominated keyboardist, composer and record producer, pioneered the smooth jazz genre as a soloist, the band reunited in 2010 to release

The free series will feature Spyro Gyra on May 14, Jeff Lorber Fusion on May 21 and The Sax Pack on June 4. The rhythmic spirit of Spyro Gyra will lift the crowd on May 14. The group brings an energy to the series that has made it popular for more than 30 years. Since its first release in 1979, Spyro Gyra’s music and style have made it an original force in the music industry. It started in 1974 when bandleader and saxman Jay Beckenstein and keyboardist Jeremy Wall developed an ensemble. Through the years, Wall made his mark as a producer while members Scott Ambush, bass; Julio Fernandez, guitar and Tom Schuman, keyboards joined Beckenstein in the honored Spyro Gyra tradition. Genre icon Boney James described Spyro Gyra’s music in Jazziz Magazine as combining “accessible pop qualities with happy uplifting tones, bringing together elements of jazz, Latin and R&B effortlessly and unconsciously. What they’re doing with electric jazz and unique instrumentation has always had a timeless quality to me.”

On May 21, Jeff Lorber Fusion brings its musical evolution to Jazz in the Park. This concert is part of a series highlighting the best student musicians from UNLV’s Jazz Studies Program. On the 2nd Wednesday of the month, you’ll hear different ensembles performing various styles of jazz – from mainstream to contemporary, to vocals or big band – whatever the concert, you can expect it to be good.

Station Casinos entertains locals and visitors with a number of new weekly acts and shows at several of its properties in addition to its trademark bands that the city has grown to love. Here are a few highlights:

Green Valley Ranch

Every Wednesday:

Ovation – The Broadway musical “Rent” is presented by Rag Tag Entertainment. The performance will benefit Golden Rainbow. Tickets are $15 plus tax and applicable fees. Doors are at 7:15 p.m. and all ages are welcome when accompanied by an adult.

Every Thursday:

Ovation – Enjoy live music on a rotating schedule with a variety of genres. The March schedule features: jazz-inspired funk with the Lon Bronson All-Star Band on March 10 and 24 and a Van Halen tribute with Atomic Punks and Motley Inc. on March 17. Doors open at 8 p.m. and guests must be 21 years or older.

St. Patrick’s Day on Thursday, March 17:

The March schedule features: PJ Barth Band opening for Jimmy Thackery on March 17. Openers begin at 7 p.m. There is a $5 cover and guests must be 21 years or older.
