Aptly called Nashville Unplugged, this show is based on the concept of getting to know what’s behind the song, similar to the famed Bluebird Café in Nashville .

Each month features a songwriter who goes through the process of what went into writing a particular song and then performs it at the show.

July’s songwriters are Shane McAnally and Monty Holmes. McAnally has had a successful career as both a singer and songwriter. His self-titled debut album in  2000 netted him in Billboard’s Top 10 debut albums and three songs charted on Billboard’s Top 40 country charts, including the song “Are Your Eyes Still Blue?” He has also written and co-written several hits by fellow country artists, including LeeAnn Womack’s “Last Call” and John Michael Montgomery’s “Addicted,” among others. Holmes is also a singer/songwriter and has released both a solo album and another with the band Pythons. He has written hit songs, including George Strait’s “When Did You Stop Loving Me?,” Montgomery’s “What I Do The Best” and Womack’s “Never Again, Again.”

The show is hosted by singer/songwriters Brian McComas who wrote and sang “99.9% Sure (I’ve Never Been Here Before)” and Aaron Benward of Blue County who wrote and sang “Good Little Girls.” Another fun aspect of Nashville Unplugged is “Songs from a Hat” where guests that arrive between 7:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. can make up a title to a song and place the suggestion in a hat. The songwriters will pick one title from that hat and then pen a song throughout the course of the evening, to be performed at the end. Must be 21+.

March’s featured songwriters are Lee Miller and Travis Howard.  Miller has written countless No.1 hits, including “The World” and ”I’m Still a Guy” performed by Brad Paisley and “I Just Wanna Be Mad” performed by Terri Clark.  Miller’s work has also been recognized with Grammy-award nominations for writing the songs “The Impossible” performed by Joe Nichols, “In Color” performed by Jamey Johnson and “You’re Gonna Miss This” performed by Trace Adkins.  Howard quickly gained fame after being cast on the first season of “Nashville Star.”  It was there that he met cast mate Miranda Lambert –sparks flew between the two culminating in an incredible songwriting relationship.  Since the show, the Howard has written 10 songs for Lambert, including “Bring Me Down,” “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” the smash hit “Famous in a Small Town ” and the upcoming single “Heart Like Mine.”  Howard has gained a career in acting, with roles in the movie “ Elizabethtown ” and the CBS show “Cold Case,” among others.

February’s featured songwriters are Keith Anderson and Marc Beeson.  Grammy-nominated songwriter Anderson is a famed country singer who got his industry start songwriting.  Notable songs he penned for others, include the No. 1 hit “Lost In This Moment” recorded by Big & Rich, Grammy-nominated “Beer Run (B Double E Double Are You In)” recorded by Garth Brooks and George Jones and “The Bed” recorded by Gretchen Wilson.  His own hits include “Pickin’ Wildflowers” and “Every Time I Hear Your Name,” among others.  Beeson has had more than 100 songs cut throughout his career, which includes writing for the likes of Reba McEntire, Kenny Rogers, Martina McBride and LeeAnn Rimes, among several others.  He also has won 10 ASCAP awards, including both Country Song and Pop Song of the Year for his hit “When She Cries” recorded by Restless Heart.  His most recent single, “Let Me,” reached the Top 10 for singer Pat Green.

Through Thursday, December 24, 2009, the outdoor setting of The District at Green Valley Ranch provides a unique, festive atmosphere for shopping, dining, entertainment and meeting Santa.

This year, The District introduces Christmas Walk - A Joyful Holiday Celebration, featuring photos with Santa, complimentary horse & carriage rides, live holiday music, and Christmas tree light shows.

Santa Claus comes to the District Fridays 4 – 8 pm, Saturdays 10 am – 5 pm, and Sundays 12 – 5 pm.  The jolly man in red can be found at The District during Christmas Walk to meet and take photos with kids, families and even the k-9 kids! There will be a variety of photo packages available to choose from. Santa will be located at The Courtyard on Main Street, adjacent to the new Christmas tree.

The District’s Christmas Tree Light Show – The spectacular new Christmas tree towers more than 50 feet over the center of Main Street. The tree features 14,400 moving LED lights that magically dance to holiday music. The tree will “perform” at various times every evening, starting in the 5 pm hour until 9 pm, November 27 thru December 24.

Complimentary Horse & Carriage Rides on Main Street Saturdays and Sundays from 12 -4 pm.  Enjoy the ambience of the holidays at The District with complimentary horse & carriage rides along The District’s Main Street.  Beginning November 28 thru December 20.

Holiday Music on Main Street -  The joyous sounds of the season can be heard from the main stage throughout the holidays, as The District welcomes area performers from local community schools, churches, and performance groups, as well as professional musicians.

Friday, November 27th at 5pm, The District presents the All-New ChristmasWalk – A Joyful Holiday Celebration! The holiday season officially begins with the lighting of the spectacular new Christmas Tree on Main Street, and the arrival of Santa! The new Christmas tree will tower more than 50 feet above the center of Main Street, and features 14,400 LED dancing lights that will perform to a variety of Christmas songs every evening. Santa Claus will arrive in grand fashion for the tree lighting spectacular, which will feature live holiday music, strolling characters, a gift for the kids, and a little Christmas magic from Santa to light the new tree. Following the tree lighting, Santa will be available for photos and meet and greet at The Courtyard.
