The Detroit Allstars is a special group and made up of band members who also work in a profession that better serves their community.  The band consists of vocalist Michael Brock, a drug and alcohol counselor and lead singer with the Dramatics; vocalist Michael Sanders, sergeant of domestic violence and 30 year veteran; bassist Robert Joiner, precinct 10 community relations officer and 25 year veteran; drummer Roderick Brown, felony apprehension officer and 13 year veteran; and guitarist Aaron Willis, a professional guitar player.

The Detroit Allstars specialize in many different types of music including Motown, Jazz, and Top 40.  They have opened for national headliners Bill Cosby, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Aretha Franklin, and Earth Wind and Fire. The Detroit Allstars have performed in many casinos around the country and are guaranteed to be a genuine crowd pleaser.

Saturday, January 22nd, check out King of Diamonds – Rob Garrett’s Tribute to Neil Diamond in the The CLUB at the Cannery Hotel & Casino in North Las Vegas.  Show time is 8 pm.  Admission is $10.  Ages 21+.

Rob Garrett has always idolized Neil Diamond and his music.  He had his dream come true when he was cast as the Neil Diamond impersonator in the “Legends in Concert” show in Honolulu, Hawaii.  Here Rob Garret only expected to appear as Neil Diamond for two months but ended up performing for three years.  Since his gig in Hawaii he has traveled all over the world appearing as Neil Diamond.  In his time touring he developed the name “King of Diamonds” and has become one of North America’s most popular Neil Diamond tribute artists.  In 2008 Rob Garrett received the “Male Musical Tribute Artist Award” by the Entertainment Network at the Celebrity Impersonator Convention in Las Vegas, making him the only Neil Diamond tribute artist to win that award.

To Commemorate Elvis’ Birthday Cannery Casino & Hotel Presents “A Celebration of the King’s Life” featuring
Special Performances by Close Friends and Co-Stars

The Cannery Row Buffet to feature Elvis’ favorite foods

The Cannery Casino & Hotel is bringing back the ever-popular “A Celebration of the King’s Life.”  With special performances by Johnny Fortuno, The Stamps Quartet as well as close friends and co-stars of the late Elvis Presley, this is a great way to commemorate Elvis’ Birthday weekend.   The concert will take place on Friday, January 7 and Saturday, January 8 and begins at 8 p.m. at The Club inside Cannery Casino & Hotel.  Admission is just $10 at the door.

The Cannery Row Buffet will also participate in the celebration with a special section featuring all of Elvis’ favorite foods.  Fans can dine on deep fried pickles, southern fried chicken, smothered pork chops, collard greens, green bean casserole, ham hocks, and potato & cheese soup.  Other activities taking place throughout the weekend will include memorabilia and fan club displays.

Fortuno has a high energy and stage presence that makes all of his live performances electrifying. He has been praised by celebrities and critics a like as one of the top Elvis Presley tribute artists.  His tribute to the king will take audiences back to the “Viva Las Vegas” years and will leave Elvis fans wanting more. Fortuno will perform many of Elvis’ hits including, “Don’t Be Cruel,” “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Suspicious Minds” and “In The Ghetto.”

The Stamps Quartet, a gospel group that had the privilege of performing with Elvis regularly. They worked with him on numerous albums and sang back up in many of his concerts.  Elvis even called The Stamps Quartet his favorite group of Gospel singers.

Other special guests will include Sonny West, Elvis’ personal friend and bodyguard; Cynthia Pepper, Elvis’ Kissin’ Cousins co-star; Darlene Tompkins, Elvis’ Blue Hawaii co-star; Steve Christopher, DJ with “Elvis on Air;” and other surprises.
