Atomic Testing Museum – Journey Through Japan

atomicmuseumlogo.jpegThe Atomic Testing Museum is offering a discounted entry price of $5 on Saturday, August 8th from 9am to 3pm to promote Family Fun Day: Journey Through Japan.

Explore Japanese culture with Japanese dancers, sushi rolling and origami folding. You can also take your photo in a kimono.

The gallery of the Atomic Testing Museum includes a short introductory video tracing the reason America chose to pursue the atomic bomb and a nuclear program after World War II. It also explains the origin of the Nevada Test Site and depicts a typical office at the test site in the town of Mercury. The museum has an extensive atomic age gallery, atmospheric testing exhibit, ground zero theater which simulates an above ground test, an underground test area with tunnels and drilling shafts. Additionally, the Atomic Testing Museum has several short films and interactive exhibits.
